Equally far equally I know at that place is nobody selling DVB-T2 cards as withal.

The practiced news is that Windows 7 does a cracking job with DVB-T and DVB-Southward/S2 devices in Media Center. By the time DVB-T2 exists, hopefully the concluding of the Windows seven bugs will exist ironed out.

I thought Windows 7 was suppost to be using "in band" guide data, ie the guide information is read from the Television set stream rather than a download via the internet. Do you lot yet need to select which transmitter your using ??

Yes, the EPG is downloaded via the Net. You don't neeed to put your transmitter in now; just your postode.

By default, the EPG DVB-T and DVB-S channels separately, so yous come across BBC1 on channels 1 and 101.

As stated in your last link:
"Microsoft and NXP said commercial chipsets and software drivers based on the [DVB-T2] prototype are expected to exist made bachelor to PC OEMs and other tuner articles towards the stop of 2009."

ah not expert news then !

This means if a program overruns due to sport (grrr!) so the scheduled to tape plan later on will not exist extended. They where suppost to exist using "in ring guide information" which does become updated equally sport items (etc!) over run.

Very dissapointed !

....It really is a much more rounded production.

excellent!

At present I only need to work out what hardware to run it on :)

I currently run Vista Media Center (pcs upstairs) and I use an xbox 360 and a linksys 2100 extender to extend information technology to downtairs but I take decided that when I motility to Windows 7 I want to run it under our chief TV on a slim ultra tranquillity pc.

Anyone recommend anything ?

There's an update on the availablity of DVB-T2 devices here.

The Digital TV Group has revealed that at to the lowest degree two Freeview HD receivers will become commercially available by the finish of the year.

In that location's an update on the availablity of DVB-T2 devices here.

...and thats merely the gear up top boxes, no pci cards mentioned.

thanks - i remember I am going to hang fire on my Windows 7 upgrade until we run into some kind of PCI DVB-T2 card so i remember we're in for a long look.

...and thats just the set top boxes, no pci cards mentioned.

I know the article discusses STB's, but it ways the chipsets volition exist available. I'chiliad sure Hauppauge etc. will be working on a card very shortly. My dream PC card would be 2 x DVB-T2 and 2 10 DVB-S2.

Too, Windows 7 would have to support DVB-T2 for the whole thing to piece of work!

.....I'm sure Hauppauge etc. volition be working on a bill of fare very soon. My dream PC carte would be 2 x DVB-T2 and ii 10 DVB-S2....

I emailed Hauppauge and they said:

...there are not any gear up tiptop boxes yet ! once the chips are bachelor then it shouldn't be that long (Well five to half dozen months) for TV card manufacturers to pattern and release. The simple fact is only the U.k. uses T2 then its not really a global market.

No dont agree your breath from Hauppauge :(

thanks - not sure why but I dont get the feeling that one is actually a DVB-T2 compatible - are y'all 100% sure ?

b.t.w. - Only a couple of weeks to get and we then get-go to get high def over our ariel ! :)

I agree that the DVB-T2 card sounds like a model number rather than the standard it uses. The spec mentions SD resolution.

I'1000 in a like gunkhole. I'm still on MCE 2005, as I couldn't justify spending £s on Vista just for more bling and no more features. I've at present got a laptop with Vista and use its Media Centre, and really prefer the mac-like clean simplicity of 2005. Windows seven is more tempting as it stands, every bit it has lots of good features simply I'm going to wait for HD freeview before upgrading anything.

I reckon we'll exist waiting until mid-2010 for a DVB-T2 menu, then probably Windows eight for Media Center to support it. I dubiety MS could be bothered to add something that's UK-only before then.
